I'm Breanna, and welcome to graduation news. Today I will be recapping our year at Piggott ES. We have learned a lot by doing monthly projects. Our first project was our author reports. Our class picked their favorite author and told the class about their author's life.
Then we paired up and learned what it was like to be a tour guide in a Washington DC building, or monument. We wrote tour guide speeches and built models of our buildings.
We picked our favorite woman, did a report on her and made a poster with pictures of her. We also formed groups of 2 and 3 and researched colonies. We had an hour to teach the lesson, and we had to prepare a game and a test.
For Black History month we choose a topic and wrote an "I Have a Dream" speech. In May, we did a Mother's Day program for our mothers. We brought in things to represent them and held them up to show to the class. We wrote poems and put them in our baskets we brought food for them.
Our biggest project was our state fair. We picked a state and researched it. We did an 11 paragraph essay on it. We made posters, and on state fair day we brought in everything, some people brought in food, and we had a state fair.
Now I will take you to the technology chart, It shows that kids in Piggott's 5th grade have learned how to search on the Internet, typing skills have increased and much more because of the computers in the classroom, a special thank you to everyone that helped raise money.
*Beep Beep Beep* Breaking news. The Romeo and Juliet play was a success. Agents from Hollywood and LA will be calling this class in no time. The agents said this class should go on Broadway, and don't forget the wonderful director, Mrs. Garner!
Well, we are almost out of time so the final news that will bring tears to your eyes. Think back to what seems like just yesterday. Your children were bringing there lunch pails to school for the first time, and now they are graduating from elementary school.
One more thing for Piggotts 5th graders to remember, Dream it Acheive it. That's it and thank you for watching Graduation News.
